/face in hands. So the giant sprawling background thing for Thancred is not something I regret writing, but it was also before I'd gotten past Leviathan in the main plot.
And you know, this bit. Which, for obvious reasons, kind of makes that entire 60k words very much not canon.
At some point after I'm done sobbing at the amount of work that went into that and how it sorta ate my life for days threaded around classwork, I -MAY- attempt to rewrite it to fit canon, or at least expand slightly on the re-adaptation of the headcanon to fit canon that I got to outline for RP purposes.
And I will console myself that hey, criminal background, dumb luck meeting Louisoix, got brought to the colleges, THE ONLY THING I GOT WRONG WAS CITY OF ORIGIN and that seems pretty forgivable considering that he does talk about Sharlayan as "home", do a good bit of identifying as Sharlayan, and avoids anything else so badly that he's still trying to dodge even when the Admiral goes "....I recognize what you were doing hi there" and calls him out on it in her office.
